when Nan Goldin photographed her in 1994. A year later, Liddell’s work was featured in the Whitney Biennial. Lidell creates sculptures and installations using ephemeral materials, like paper, thread, pins, glass, and straws to explore the nature of visual perception and illusion. Lidell was also a close friend of Nan Goldin and even lived with her in Goldin’s New York loft apartment in the late 1980s and early 1990s. -- Label copy for Somebody, April 1 to August 3, 2008.
