Chir bhat (plain design) patola saris have a monochromatic field in either red, gold, or yellow gold. Separate ikat warp and wefts are prepared for the borders and pallu. The warp is folded laterally and is apparent in the mirror patterning seen in the sari where a repeated red parrot occurs. -- Label copy for Courtyard, Bazaar, Temple: Traditions of Textile Expression in India, Bellevue Art Museum, June 12 to July 25, 1982.
