Paper dresses were all the rage in the late 1960s, sparking the imagination for an inexpensive, disposable wardrobe, where hems and necklines could be easily cut and shaped. Made of a combination of paper and synthetic fibers, these dresses integrate the bright colors and bold designs of the 60s. Although they did not ultimately become part of mainstream fashion, later generations of the fibers are now used for surgical and other disposable medical wear. -- Label copy for ARCHIGRAM: Experimental Architecture 1961 - 1974, July 22 to October10,1999.
